Magnesium and PMS

Did you know that many clinicians prescribe magnesium for PMS, PCOS and perimenopause. It is the number one natural treatment for period problems.

I have struggled lots in the past with pain from endometriosis and one of my heroes was a Maggie bath!

There were studies and trials in a 2017 review called “Magnesium in the gynecological practice”(1). In that review, the authors conclude that there is “an important role for magnesium for the prevention and the treatment of a number of conditions relevant for women’s health”.

These are the ways in which magnesium can help.

  1. Magnesium eases stress and aids relaxation of nervous system which has a major knock on effect to benefit the menstrual cycle.

  2. According to a review magnesium is a evidence based treatment for PCOS.

  3. Magnesium can treat pre menstrual migraines.

  4. Magnesium promotes clearance of excess oestrogen.

  5. Magnesium aids symptoms of the menopause transition. A study found, magnesium relieved the menopausal hot flashes of women who were undergoing treatment for breast cancer and could not take hormone replacement.

  6. Magnesium aids relaxation and this can in turn ease cramps especially when combined with a warm bath.

See, our Maggie really is magic.

Please spread the word and help our fellow ladies be aware.
