Are HIIT workouts hurting your health?
High Intensity Interval Training, AKA ‘HIIT workouts are good for our fitness and health. Our hearts are pumping and the short bursts are said to give us a higher calorific burn compared to other exercise in the same time zone.
However too much of a good thing does indeed come into play here. All the stress we are putting out bodies under for these short bursts can in fact be undoing all that hard work and contributing to burn out.
Month - long studies suggest that those that did less intense more frequent exercise benefited with more blood sugar balance compared to those frequent HIIT lovers.
Try switching up some of those high intensity sessions for some strength work and give your body a bit of TLC.
